Heavy Highway Project Manager / Estimator

To qualify for this position, the candidate should have experience in heavy and highway construction of Mass. Department of Transportation Bridge and Highway projects. Ten years or more office, field, engineering, management, estimating experience and a strong resume with references are required, BSCE preferred, for this full-time position. Experience in quantity take-off, review, coordination, and submittal of shop drawings, cost estimating, scheduling, technical support coordination between office and field operations, negotiation and buy out of subcontracts, good written and oral communication, as well as computer literacy in Microsoft Office needed. Knowledge of Sage software, Bid-2-Win Estimating, Primavera P6, AutoCAD and INSITE is a plus.

Controller

E.T.& L. Corp., Stow, MA, one of New England’s premiere heavy highway construction companies, is seeking a Controller to join its team.

The Controller is responsible for the direction, coordination, and management of a wide set of financial and administrative functions directly or through supervision of the Accounting Department/HR.  These functions include, but are not limited to:

  • Supervise Accounting and Administrative Staff
  • Supervise preparation of Monthly Financials to management
  • Supervise Human Resources including assisting in updating policies, handbooks etc.
  • Ongoing Human Resources compliance
  • Key contact for banking relationships
  • Oversee and review weekly payroll processing and related reports
  • Supervise preparation and file related reports – federal and state quarterlies, federal unemployment tax, etc.
  • Oversee reporting of weekly certified payrolls for company and subcontractors
  • Oversee Account Payable coding, review and payments
  • Oversee preparation of weekly cash report for management
  • Attend weekly Cash Flow Meeting
  • Conduct/attend quarterly Operations Meeting
  • Supervise updating Union Rates & Monthly Union Reports, payment for benefits
  • Accounts Receivable calls
  • Supervise updating various schedules (e.g., Equipment Leasing/Financing)
  • Oversee annual motor vehicle registrations and trucking permits renewals
  • Supervise maintenance of 401(k) account data
  • Supervise and assist in preparation of annual budget
  • Supervise and assist in preparation of annual prequalification statements
  • Annual & Semi-Annual Financial Statements working with CPA Firm – prepares year-end reports of financial data such as receivable, payables and fixed assets listings with the Accounting Manager
  • Prepare and negotiate insurance renewal quotes for General Liability, Workers Compensation, Auto, Professional, Health, Dental, Short and Long Term Disability, etc. to review with management
  • Coordinate and participate in audits by outside accounting firms, unions, insurance companies, the state and IRS
  • Communicate effectively to management analyses, observations and suggestions important to the proper management of the business
  • Oversee purchases and monitor insurance coverages with management
  • Oversees setup, maintenance, and updated records as needed for General Liability, Equipment and Vehicle insurance
  • Manage computer technology
  • Special projects requested by management

Requirements:

  • AS/Bachelor’s degree in accounting required
  • Construction industry experience a plus
  • Minimum ten years accounting experience
  • Sage 300/Timberline software experience a plus
  • Detailed oriented
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Must meet strict deadlines
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word

Vehicle Mechanic

We are seeking an experienced automobile and pickup mechanic for maintenance and repairs of our vehicles, who is knowledgeable in ordering vehicle parts for the repairs, in our Stow garage. Administrative / record-keeping skills a strong plus for this position.

Civil / Construction Engineer

A degree in Civil/Construction Engineering and 4-5 years’ experience is preferred for this full-time position. You will be involved in estimating and with ongoing bridge, road and landfill construction and site work projects, in the office and in the field. AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, Primavera, On-Screen Take Off, Bid2Win and construction experience a plus.

Lowbed Driver

E.T.& L. Corp. is seeking a lowbed driver to join our team. The driver will be based out of our Stow, MA headquarters.  The driver will be moving heavy highway equipment throughout Southern New England and will end their day at our Stow headquarters.

The candidate should be an experienced driver with a good driving record. The candidate must be knowledgeable in heavy trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment. We are seeking a driven individual with a positive attitude. The candidate must have a class A license and be able to drive a standard transmission.

Yard Laborer / Rack Body Driver

E.T.& L. Corp. is seeking a yard laborer/ rack body driver to join our team. The candidate will be based out of our Stow, MA headquarters and will be moving heavy highway construction materials throughout Southern New England as well as working in our yard/ garage.

The candidate must at a minimum have a valid class D license and a DOT medical card. The candidate must be at least 21 years old. Those applying should be driven individuals with positive attitudes and be able to work well in a team environment.
