In August 2011, E.T.& L. Corp. received the contract for a MassDOT bridge rehabilitation project in Chicopee, MA. The I-90 bridge located over Route I-391 was in desperate need of repair, but because of its location along the busy Massachusetts Turnpike, could not undergo a full reconstruction. In March 2011, the City of Haverhill and Aggregate Industries awarded the Southern Mound Closure project to E.T.& L. Corp. Located at the former Haverhill Municipal Landfill,  the Southern Mound contains  35 acres of landfilled waste. Before capping the site, the project first calls for extensive regrading and shaping of 250,000 cubic yards of material. Located over the Taunton River, the Summer Street Bridge spans the town line between Bridgewater and Middleborough, MA. In January 2011, MassDOT awarded E.T.& L. Corp. the contract for its replacement.  As a result of Tropical Storm Irene, the Cold River surged, causing sections of Route 2 in Charlemont and Savoy, MA to be washed out and the roadway made unsafe and impassable. In mid-October 2011, MassDOT put out an emergency repair contract, which they awarded to E.T.& L. Corp.  On August 28, 2011, Tropical Storm Irene dumped six to ten inches of heavy rain on portions of the Western Massachusetts causing rivers to rage and washout everything in their path. This project  in Williamstown, MA replaces a deteriorated concrete, planted retaining wall along Route 2 with a new planted wall. This project consists of the demolition and reconstruction of an existing bridge carrying Route 19 (Wales Road) over Mill Brook. E.T. & L. May of 2010 brought E.T.& L. Corp. its first Design Build project with CSX Bridge Bundle #3. E.T.& L. is the managing partner in a joint venture with J.F. White Contracting Company for this project for the Massachusetts Department of Transportation. Bridge Bundle #3 is part of a comprehensive statewide project to raise bridges and, in some locations, undercut the railroad tracks, so that CSX can run their double stack freight trains in and out of Massachusetts.
