This project consists of removing the existing bridge to the Transfer Station in Weston, MA, and replacing it with a prestressed, precast concrete bridge. The bridge span is approximately 33 foot long x 16 foot wide with a metal bridge railing running on each side. The roadway leading to the bridge site will also be updated to include a rock-filled gabion retaining wall, rip-rap aprons, guardrail installation and new roadway pavement. A wetland replication area as well as a new detention basin will also be constructed. This fast-track project requires the bridge and railing to be demolished and constructed in just two weeks in August. Directional drilling of a new 8 inch waterline under the bridge and waterway will also be performed as part of this contract.
