This 3.5 year, $36.2 million project for MassDOT in Deerfield, Massachusetts was awarded to J.F. White Contracting Co. in May, 2012. The project includes the replacement of 2 bridges on Interstate 91 (northbound and southbound) over the Deerfield River and Stillwater and Lower Roads. The proposed northbound bridge structures are located between the existing northbound and southbound structures. The project will be completed in stages; sections of temporary roadway will be required to maintain traffic.
E.T.& L. Corp. is currently working as a subcontractor to J.F. White on this project. E.T. & L.’s work includes all of the excavation work as well as water main installation and drainage work associated with the temporary and permanent roadways. E.T.& L. broke ground in early September 2012 and has been working on removing the 33,000 cubic yards of unclassified excavation and placing the 77,000 cubic yards of fill. Utility work will include the water main installation, 117 new drainage structures, as well as the rebuilding of 88 existing drainage structures.
